Being Sensitive

This quote resonates with me. I’m proud to be sensitive, yet strong when I need to be as well.

“Highly sensitive people are too often perceived as weaklings or damaged goods. To feel intensely is not a symptom of weakness, it is the trademark of the truly alive and compassionate. It is not the empath who is broken, it is society that has become dysfunctional and emotionally disabled. There is no shame in expressing your authentic

feelings. Those who are at times described as being a ‘hot mess’ or having ‘too many issues’ are the very fabric of what keeps the dream alive for a more caring, humane world. Never be ashamed to let your tears shine a light in this world.”

  1. Yes! 💞 I used to despise my sensitivity because it was always something that was either held against me or something I was unendingly teased about. I’ve since realized it’s the most divine gift I could have ever been blessed with, and embrace it as much as I can. Thanks for sharing! 🙂

  2. There is a world of difference between sensitivity and selfishness, a distinction immediately obvious to the beholder. The trouble for those who see the world in different colours, is acceptance at the hands of those who see nothing but profit. The ruinous process which we see as the exploitation of beauty carries heavy penalties for the truly beautiful. It is a nightmare world to inhabit.
